These pinecone gnomes are the perfect addition to Scandinavian Christmas decor. Make a set or play with different colors of felt and display them proudly.
Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 15 minutes
Age range: 12 and up
Things you’ll need:
Felt
Pinecones
Yarn
Scissors
Wooden beads
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Things to do:
1. First, make the hat for your gnome. Cut a square of felt and roll it into a cone shape. Use hot glue to secure it in place. Use scissors to trim the bottom of the cone, so it’s straight across.
2. Next, we’re going to make the beard. Cut 10 pieces of yarn, all roughly 1 1/2 inches long. Use hot glue to secure them to a long, anchor piece. Trim the ends, so they’re all the same length.
3. Now we get to assemble the pieces! Use hot glue to secure a large wooden bead to the top of your pinecone – This will be the head of your gnome.
4. Next, add a nose. Use hot glue to attach a small wooden bead to the center of your head.
5. Complete your gnome by using hot glue to attach the beard and hat.
