Teachers help our children grow and blossom, and while it’s hard to ever really say thank you enough to our teachers, a lovely flowering plant is a fun place to start, especially when you add a cute, school themed pot.
Things you’ll need:
Flowerpot
Chalkboard Paint
Permanent Marker
Fabric tape measure
Foam brush
Chalk
Things to do:
1. On a protected work surface, flip the pot over and paint up the bottom of the rim with chalkboard paint, applying two or three thin coats until you have a nice solid layer.
2. Once the paint is dry, flip the pot over and wrap the fabric tape around the rim, marking at the one-inch and one-half inch marks.
3. Fill in the numbers and add a chalk message once the paint has cured.
Every morning I send my kids off to school with a packed lunch and a note from mom. Except for when I can’t find a piece of paper in those crucial time to get out the door moments (Oops!). But now that I’ve made one small alteration to their lunchboxes, I’ll never have to worry about paper again.
Things you’ll need:
Metal Lunchbox
Chalkboard paint
Foam brush
Painter’s tape
Things to do:
1. Open the lid of the lunch box and tape off the edges. Prop up the lid so that it rests in a flat position.
2. Coat the inside of the lid with a generous layer of paint. Allow it to dry completely and then add a second coat.
3. Let the paint harden overnight before using.
