They laugh. They cry. They love. Emojis are everywhere and the felt variety are popular in stores right now – but you can easily make your own with a few supplies and very basic sewing skills.

Things you’ll need:
Yellow felt sheets
Red felt sheet
Black felt sheet
Fabric glue
Scissors
Needle and embroidery thread
A circle to trace around
Pencil
Things to do:
1. Trace two circles on your yellow felt.
2. Cut them out.
3. Cut two hearts from your red felt.
4. Cut a mouth from the black felt.
5. The facial features to one circle.
6. Allow the glue to dry.
7. Thread your needle. Place the two circles wrong sides together. Sew most of the way around the outside.
8. Leave about a 1 1/2″ opening.
9. Stuff your emoji (I used felt scraps) and sew the opening closed.
