Bring the fireworks indoors – or onto your outdoor patio – with this Anthropologie-inspired centerpiece of fireworks flowers. It’s fun to bring your kids into this project by having them poke the swabs into the Styrofoam.
Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time to complete: 3 hours (includes drying time)
Age range: 10+
Things you’ll need:
Styrofoam ball
Cotton-tipped swabs
Gold spray paint
Scissors
Dowel rods
Green pipe cleaners
Bottle
Things to do:
1. Cut the swabs off one end of the cotton swabs.
2. You’ll need about 180 for two Styrofoam balls.
3. Begin poking them into the Styrofoam.
4. Continue all over the ball.
5. This is what your balls will look like when you’re done with step 4.
6. Spray the balls in a well-ventilated area (preferably outside). Allow to dry.
7. Wrap two pipe cleaners around each other.
8. Wrap the pipe cleaner around the dowel rod and insert into the balls for stems.
