How to Make a Halloween Spider Hair Clip

Make some creepy-cute spider clips to complete your little one’s Halloween attire. Add flowers in a rainbow of colors for even more fun!

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time required: 1 hour
Age range: 8+

Things you’ll need:
Ribbon
Felt
Hair clips
Spider buttons
Hot glue
Hot glue gun
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Gather your supplies and cut one flower shape from felt for each clip you would like to make.

2. Cut a strip of ribbon a couple inches long (the length should be 3-4 times the length of your hairlip. This doesn’t have to be exact, you will have a chance to trim it at the end) and sandwich one end of the ribbon between the prongs of the clip.

3. Apply a line of hot glue to the top of the clip and fold the ribbon over the glue, pressing it in place. Continue gluing and folding the ribbon the rest of the way around the clip.

4. Apply a dab of glue to the back of the spider button and press the spider button firmly in the center of the felt flower.

5. Apply a dab of glue to the end of the ribbon-covered clip.

6. Press the flower/spider to the end of the clip and hold firmly in place until the glue hardens.
