DIY Tiny Tin Chalkboard Storage Case

Create a fun chalkboard and storage case in one for your little one to take on the go! This chalkboard is reusable, and easily recreated once it encounters inevitable wear.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time required: 20+ minutes
Age range: 8+

Things you’ll need:
Tin mint box/tin craft box
Chalkboard paint
Cardstock/posterboard/thin cardboard
Craft glue
Paint brush
Small scrap of felt

Things to do:
1. Paint an area large enough to cover the top of your tin, using your chalkboard paint on thin cardboard. This may require 2 coats of paint to create a smooth, streak free chalkboard surface. Allow to fully dry.

2. Trace the top of your tin on to your painted are once your paint is dry.

3. Cut out your traced area.
4. Using craft glue, glue your cardboard to the top of your tin. We placed a heavy book on top of our tin to keep the cardboard flat against the top of the tin while drying. Allow to fully dry.

5. Cut a small piece of felt to use as a chalk eraser and store along with chalk inside of your tin.
