DIY Mosquito Repellent Mason Jar Luminary Tutorial

It doesn’t matter who’s around – the mosquitoes find me and bite me first. It’s so frustrating to feel like I have to spray repellent on myself just to enjoy some time outdoors. But with this mosquito repellent jar, I have some protection from the mosquitoes, who prefer to stay away from this combination of smells (even though they smell good to us)!

Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Clear pint mason jar
Lavender oil
Scissors
Lemons
Limes
Kitchen knife and cutting board
Rosemary sprigs
Tea light candle

Things to do:
1. Fill up your jar with water, about 2″ from the top. Drizzle in some lavender oil.

2. Cut up a few pieces of lemon and lime, and tear off a few sprigs of rosemary.

3. Drop in your limes.

4. Drop in your lemons. Add your tea light candle to the top – it will float there – and light the candle.
