DIY Rustic Ruffled Burlap Garland


I love hanging fresh greenery at Christmas time. I find a nice thick garland to decorate my staircase and the fragrant accent instantly warms up the space. The only thing better than fresh garland is fresh garland with some character. This burlap garland will add the perfect finishing touch to your greenery this season, creating a rustic look that’s fit for a country Christmas.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 5 Minutes
Age range: 8 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Burlap ribbon
Needle
Jute
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Thread a yarn needle with jute. For Christmas time, use red or green for an added detail.


2. Push the needle and thread up through the burlap ribbon 1-inch from the end.

3. Push the needle and thread down through the burlap ribbon, creating 1-inch stitches.

4. Repeat steps 2-3 until you have reached your desired length.
5. Once the sewing is complete, tie a knot at the end and arrange the fabric until you achieve a look you love. Display your burlap garland with fresh greenery for a classic Christmas look.

DIY Snowglobe Video Tutorial


This project will have you dreaming of a white Christmas all year long! Use the snow globe as a decoration for your winter table or give it as hostess gift. You’re sure to love this winter craft!

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 15 Minutes
Age range: 8 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Mason Jar
Epsom Salts
Bottle brush tree
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Gold Ribbon
Scissors

Things to do:
1. The first step is attaching the tree to the lid of the jar. Use a small drop of hot glue on the base of the tree and secure it to the center of the inside of the lid.

2. Fill your mason jar with Epsom salts. Pour them in until about 1/2 inch of the bottom of the jar is filled.

3. Screw the lid on with the tree and flip the winter wonderland right side up, letting the Epsom salts fall like snow.

4. Tie a bow using gold ribbon around the base of the jar.
