How to Make a Spring-Inspired Tree Centerpiece

Spring has sprung! This whimsical decoration is a great way to brighten up your space and welcome the season.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 45 minutes
Age range: 8 and up

Things you’ll need:
Pruning sheers
Tree branch
Pompoms
Bird’s nest
Eggs
Bakers twine
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors
Birch bark planter
Florist foam
Bird stickers
Rocks
Moss

Things to do:
1. Trim florist blocks to fit tightly into the planter.
2. Trim your tree branch to a sharp point and insert it in the foam bocks.
3. Cover the foam with rocks for stability and use moss to cover the rocks for decoration.
4. Cut pieces of bakers twine into 5″ lengths. Tie a knot close to the end to make a loop for hanging. Glue the bakers twine to the top of an egg to create an ornament for the tree.
5. Peel the paper off the back of the birds and place a knotted bakers twine loop between two stickers. Press the stickers together to create an ornament.
6. Use hot glue to add pompoms to the branch. Try to vary the colors and placement for a cheery, whimsical look.
7. Hang your bird and egg ornaments around on the tree.

How to DIY Yarn Dandelion Bouquet

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. These Dandelion flowers may be a bother in your yard, but they look super cute on your shelves or table!

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 20 minutes
Age range: 12 and up

Things you’ll need:
Pipe cleaners
Yarn (yellow and green)
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Fork

Things to do:
1. Tie a piece of yellow yarn two inches below the end of the pipe cleaner.
2. Place a fork next to the pipe cleaner and wrap the yarn around the fork until it’s about 1/4 inch thick. Cut the yarn.
3. Fold both sides of the pipe cleaner around the yellow yarn bundle and twist it to secure.
4. Knot a piece of green yarn 1/4 inch up the yellow yarn bundle and start wrapping until the bottom portion of yellow yarn is covered with green yarn. Cut the yarn and use hot glue to secure.
5. Use scissors to get open the yellow yarn bundle, revealing your flower.
