Paper Chain Hearts

Just because Christmas is over, that doesn’t mean the paper chains have to go away till next December. These heart paper chains are a simple and sweet way to decorate for Valentines day.

Things you’ll need:
Red, pick and/or white scrapbook paper, solid or patterned, a mix is fine
Paper cutter
Stapler

Things to do:
1. Cut the paper into 1-inch wide strips.

2. Fold each strip in half, creasing well.

3. With the pattern sides together, staple just above the fold on one strip of paper.
4. Pull the two ends down to form a heart and slid another strip up against it so the fold of the new strip covers the ends of the first. Staple in place.

5. Repeat until you have a chain of hearts as long as you want.

Paint Strip Heart Bookmark

A fun little gift for your valentine, this craft would be great for kids to make for their friends or family. While we used Valentines hued paint strips, any color that your Valentine likes would make an excellent candidate for this sweet bookmark. You can use ribbon instead of embroidery thread for the topper if you have that handy, both would look great!

Things you’ll need:
Paint strips
Heart punch
Hole punch
Embroidery thread or ribbon

Things to do:
1. Punch a heart in the center of each color square on the paint strip.

2. Cut a hole with the hole punch in the center of the strip near the top.

3. Double up your embroidery thread and then loop through the small hole at the top before tying to finish.
