How to Make Scandinavian Knot Coasters and Trivets

Things you’ll need:
Metal rings
Macrame cord
Scissors
Wooden beads

Things to do:
1. Cut two five-foot pieces of macrame cord.

2. Next, you’re going to start the knotting process. Lay your cords under the center of your hoop and make a loop shape at the top. Pull the end of your cords up through the center of the metal hoop and through your macrame loop.

3. Repeat this step, creating knots all around the circumference of the metal hoop.

4. When you’ve covered the entire metal hoop, tie a square knot to secure the ends and trim your cord, leaving roughly 3-4 inches.

5. Add wooden beads to your excess cord and knot the macrame to hold them in place.

1. Choose several coordinating colors of felt to use.


2. Cut a 1-inch strip off the side of the piece of felt.
3. Cut shapes out of your 1-inch strip. Triangles and squares are the easiest, and look really cute!


4. Measure a length of string to wrap around your gift and cut it.

5. Use a dot of hot glue to attach the felt shapes to your string.


6. Tie your felt gift wrap around your present and enjoy!
