Showcase your love for 70s style with these DIY coaster and trivets! Once you learn the knot pattern, you’ll go crazy crafting matching sets for your friends and family.
Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 30 minutes
Age range: 10 and Up
Things you’ll need:
Metal rings
Macrame cord
Scissors
Wooden beads
Things to do:
1. Cut two five-foot pieces of macrame cord.
2. Next, you’re going to start the knotting process. Lay your cords under the center of your hoop and make a loop shape at the top. Pull the end of your cords up through the center of the metal hoop and through your macrame loop.
3. Repeat this step, creating knots all around the circumference of the metal hoop.
4. When you’ve covered the entire metal hoop, tie a square knot to secure the ends and trim your cord, leaving roughly 3-4 inches.
5. Add wooden beads to your excess cord and knot the macrame to hold them in place.
