Things to do:
1. First, I like to set up all the fairy garden items on the wood plank to see how big I would like my blue and gold areas.

2. The next few steps are optional. I used the Coastline Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint Set to paint the blue portion on the large wood plank. I like to paint underneath my glitter, just incase some glitter falls off or if you choose not to add glitter.

3. Start painting on the edges and work you way in towards the middle.

4. Paint the entire area you have chosen in blue. Repeat until desired color is achieved.

5. If not choosing to add glitter, you may add brush strokes of other blue colors to resemble waves.
6. Paint the rest of the area tan and allow both colors to dry.

7. Grab your Mod Podge and extra fine gold glitter.

8. Add a layer of modge podge on top of the tan paint.

9. Place a piece of paper under wood plank. Then, generously pour glitter on top of the mod podge.

10. Gently shake extra glitter off onto the piece of paper.

11. Fold paper in half and pour extra glitter back into the container.

12. Add more mod podge and glitter to any open gaps. Then allow to dry completely before starting with blue glitter.

13. Repeat mod podge and glitter process with the blue glitter.

14. For more a textured look to resemble waves, you may add thicker brush strokes of mod podge before adding glitter.

15. Repeat mod podge and glitter process until all the gaps are filled in.

16. Allow all the glitter to dry.

17. Choose your favorite sealant to seal the glitter onto the wood plank. I started with a spray adhesive to prevent glitter from flaking off. This should be sufficient if you plan to have kids play with it, you may add another layer of mod podge on top to seal the glitter. Voila! You now have your own beachy fun Fairy Garden!
