How to Make a Felt Flower Headband Tutorial

Give her this beautiful headband for Valentine’s Day or for a special occasion. It’s easier to make than it looks!

Difficulty level: Easy
Time to complete: 1 hour
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Red felt sheets
Plastic headband
Narrow ribbon
Hot glue gun
Glue sticks
Scissors
Needle and thread *optional

Things to do:
1. Wrap your headband following the instructions here.

2. Trace 6 circles onto the felt. I’ve used the lid of a mason jar.

3. Warm up your hot glue gun. You’ll be folding 5 of the circles into quarters. Fold the first one in half as shown.

4. Fold in half again.

5. Glue in place, or stitch if desired, for extra security.

6. Begin gluing the folded circles to the remaining circular piece of felt.

7. Repeat with all the folded circles.

8. Open up the folds to reveal the flower.

DIY Foam Fortune Cookies Tutorial


Send a little bit of luck someone’s way for Valentine’s Day or another special day! Make these foam fortune cookies and fill them with motivational sayings, expressions of love, or jokes that will make your friends and family smile.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 20 minutes
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Craft foam sheets
A small bowl to trace
Scissors
Paper
Stapler
Computer and printer (or just a pen!)

Things to do:
1. Print out some encouraging statements and cut them into thin strips. Trace your bowl onto the foam and cut it out.

2. Place the paper strip inside of the circle, fold it in half and then make sure the paper sticks out of one side just a little.

3. Start folding the cookie” in half again by facing the folded edge toward you and pulling both edges toward you as well. The felt will start to pucker.

4. The fold should look like this.

5. Staple the pointed ends together so they stay.

6. The cookie should look like this!
