DIY Color Block Pots

These bright pots are a great way to liven up any room and can be customized to any color or style. You can choose to leave the base color of the pot terra cotta or spray it with a matte paint after the inside has been painted and before the color is added to the outside.

Things you’ll need:
Terra Cotta Pots
Acrylic paints
Paint brushes
Matte spray paint (optional)

Things to do:
1. Paint the inside of the pots with two coats of craft paint or until the terra cotta color no longer shows through. Be sure to bring the paint up over the edges of the pot.

2. Once the paint is dry, flip the pots over onto newsprint or scrap paper and spray the outside if desired.

3. Paint bands of color (not the same as the inside) onto the outside of the pots. Coat with a second layer of paint if needed. Allow the paint to dry before displaying.

Primitive Star Mini Wreath

A fun little decoration that will brighten up a corner of your house, the trick to creating it easily is to pull sections of the garland into short segments that can be more easily wrapped around the wire frame than a longer piece.

Things you’ll need:
Primitive barn star
Berry garland
Heavy gauge wire
Wire cutter
Super glue

Things to do:
1. Bend the wire into a loop that is just smaller than the circumference of the star, hooking the ends to form a circle.

2. Using the superglue, glue the hoop to the backside of the tips of the star.

3. Once the glue is set, begin wrapping the garland around. Pull two-inch sections out, pinching it tight. Then wrap the folded section around the wire and more of the garland. Continue to do this until you have covered the entire wire loop. Twist the ends together and tuck behind the wreath.
