DIY Tassel Fringe Earrings

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time required: 30 minutes
Age range: 12 and up

Things you’ll need: [tassel-fringe-earrings-supplies]
36mm sterling silver hoop earrings
Ruler
Scissors
Embroidery Floss

Things to do:
1. Cut twenty-eight 6 1/2 “-long lengths of each color of embroidery floss. When you finish, you should have a total of 56 lengths.

2. Separate the strands of floss into eight groups, with seven strands of floss in each group. We grouped our floss by color, but you can also mix colors, if you’d like.

3. Grab the first group of floss. Fold the strands in half lengthwise.

4. Place the floss under the earring.

5. Slip the ends of the floss through the loop formed at the top.

6. Pull gently to tighten the floss around the earring.

7. Repeat steps 1-5 to add 3 more groups of floss to the earring, alternating dark purple and light purple colors. Don’t worry if your fringe ends are not even; we’ll take care of that later!

8. Repeat steps 1-6 to create the second earring.

9. Trim the floss ends across both earrings. You can trim evenly, if you’d like; we left some stray ends for a more boho style, but there’s no wrong way to do this step.
