DIY Chalkboard Clipboard Organizer

If you have a busy house, and I bet you do, you’re always making grocery lists. Always. Even when you’ve just been to the store. Because there is always that thing that you just ran out of. And a running list, compiled over a number of days, is generally more accurate than a thrown-together-last-minute kind of list, or worse still, a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants shopping trip. This chalkboard clipboard is the perfect solution. Hang it in an easily accessible place in your kitchen, add to it as you run out of items then pull it off the wall when you head to the store. Coupons can be clipped on to help you remember them and you can erase items as they go into the cart so that you always get everything you need.

Difficulty level: Moderate, requires a steady hand
Time required: 20 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
Clipboard
Chalkboard paint
Wide and fine paint brush
White paint pen

Things to do:
1. On a covered work surface, coat the clipboard in three thin coats of paint, working around the metal edges carefully so that you have a nice, even coat.

2. Allow the paint to dry overnight then, using the white paint pen, hand letter the words SHOP onto the top of the board to mimic chalk.

3. Let the chalkboard paint cure for a week before using for best results.
