Chick Painted Log Slice Tutorial


Log slice crafts add a fun rustic look to any season. Paint a few log slices yellow and turn them into festive Easter chicks!

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time required: 2 hours
Age range: 8+

Things you’ll need:
Log slice
Paint
Paint brush
Felt
Feathers
Scissors
Hot glue
Hot glue gun

Things to do:
1. Paint the face of the log slice white. (This step is optional but gives the yellow a more vibrant look.)


2. When the white paint dries, paint a coat of yellow. Let the yellow dry and repeat as many times as desired to get the right shade.

3. Paint two eyes on the middle of the face.

4. Cut a beak shape from orange felt and glue the beak below the eyes.

5. Glue a couple yellow feathers to the top of the chick’s head.

How to Make Popsicle Stick Ribbon Flowers


Popsicle stick crafts are fun and easy enough for young kiddos to create. Cut up the pieces of ribbon before the craft for an easier experience with the younger ones.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time required: 1 hour
Age range: 4+

Things you’ll need:
Green craft sticks
Ribbon
Craft foam
Scissors
Hot glue
Hot glue gun

Things to do:
1. Cut 6 – approximately 3 inch lengths of ribbon for each flower you wish to create and one approximately 1 inch diameter circle out of craft foam.


2. Fold one length of ribbon in half, creating a loop, and glue the ends of the loop to the top end of the green craft stick.

3. Repeat step two until you have six loops of ribbon, pointing different directions, to complete a circle of loops.


4. Glue the circle of craft foam to the center of the circle of loops, covering the glued on ends of ribbon.

5. Repeat with a variety of colors!
