Chalked Highlights

Chalked_Highlights
I might have a little rock star on my hands, what with the pink and purple fingernails and the new obsession with a certain music video game. Next thing you know she’ll be wanting to dye her hair pink and blue. Fortunately I have a simple little workaround that should hold us for a few years. Chalk.

Things you’ll need:
Chalk
Water
Spray bottle

Things to do:
1. Fill a spray bottle with water.
2. Soak the chalk with water so that it is slightly mushy on the surface.
3. Spray a lock of hair lightly with water and then rub the wet chalk up and down the hair several times.

4. Allow the hair to dry and style as usual to bring out the color of the chalk. Wash away with shampoo and water.

Hemp Twine
Thumbtacks
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Pierce the end of the twine and press it into the back of the wreath.

2. Wrap tightly, working with sections of twine if your ball is too bulky, and overlapping slightly on the inside curve to maintain an even coverage.

3. Continue to wrap, pulling each new layer tightly against the previous one, until you have covered the whole wreath. Tie off and add a loop if desired.
