This bohemian DIY is great to do with kids on a rainy day. The steps are simple and easy to follow, giving your tiny tots an easy introductory to weaving.
Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 20 Minutes
Age range: 8 and Up
Things you’ll need:
Large metal ring
Small metal ring
Cotton twine
Scissors
Wire cutters
Gold jewelry wire
Things to do:
1. The first step is attaching your metal rings. Cut a 2-inch piece of gold jewelry wire and wrap it tightly around the top of both rings. Cut any excess.
2. Cut 20 pieces of string that measure 20 inches long.
3. Next, it’s time to start connecting the string to the metal rings. Fold a piece of string in half and slide the center under the bottom hoop. Pull the ends up through the loop of string and back down through the other side, creating a knot.
4. Repeat step 3 until all 20 pieces are secured to the largest metal ring.
5. Next, cut ten 5-inch pieces of string.
6. Knot them onto the top ring, just like you knotted the longer strings onto the bottom ring.
7. Display your work of art on a nail or tack and enjoy!
