The perfect rainy day project, create unique, fun necklaces, bracelets and scarves with all those balls of leftover yarn using a straw! Yes! A straw!
Things you’ll need:
1 long, sturdy straw
Craft knife
Elastic thread
Yarn
Scissors
Things to do:
1. Cut a slit 1/2 inch long in one end of the straw.
2. Thread the elastic through the straw and tie a scrap of yarn around one end. Slip that end into the slit to secure it.
3. Cut the elastic six inches longer than you want the necklace. Tie a second scrap of yarn around the other end.
4. Loop the yarn around the straw and tie in a knot. Trim the excess yarn and then begin looping around the straw, occasionally sliding the loops down to the end and eventually off onto the tail of the elastic.
5. Continue to loop and slide until the entire length of the elastic is filled with loops.
6. Slip the elastic out of the slit and pull through the straw. Tie the ends of the elastic together and trim the ends.
