DIY Bird Wall Decals

When summer hits we spend a lot of time lazing outdoors in the grass, watching the birds fly through the blue sky. But for the rest of the year, well, it’s nice to have a little reminder of those days indoors so we can always have the delight of those beautiful afternoons. This project brings the soaring birds indoors for year round fun in whatever colors and patterns match your decor. Choose lightweight cotton fabrics for the best results. Decals can be peeled off when you want to change or reposition them.

Difficulty level: Moderate
Time required: 25 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
Fat quarters of cotton fabric
Stiffy Fabric Stiffener
Scissors
Bird template
Iron

Things to do:
1. Spray your fabric until its thoroughly damp and hang to dry for several hours. It should be stiff but not totally inflexible once dry.

2. Using the template cut out as many birds as you want for your walls.

3. Heat the iron to medium high and position one of the birds on a painted wall.

4. Iron the fabric onto the wall with short but firm movements of the iron. The Stiffy Fabric Stiffener will make the fabric adhere to the wall.
