DIY Billowly Cloud Decals

Our house has white, white walls which is lovely for making the spaces light and bright but not particularly colorful. In order to add color without changing the paint, I look to large scale fabric decals such as these clouds. Fabric decals are removable, re-positionable and so much fun and these clouds fill up a wall with color and character that you’ll love.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 20 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
1/3 yard of lightweight fabric (makes 2 clouds)
Stiffy Fabric Stiffener
Scissors
Iron

Things to do:
1. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise and hang over a line or string.

2. Spray both side of the fabric well with Stiffy Fabric Stiffener until it is thoroughly damp.
3. Allow the fabric to dry for several hours. It should be stiff but not totally inflexible once dry.
4. Cut out free-form cloud shapes from the fabric. You should be able to get two clouds per length of fabric.

5. Heat your iron to medium high and press the cloud onto a painted wall as if ironing. Use short, smooth movements, making sure you get all the way to the edges. The fabric stiffener will adhere the fabric to the walls. If you need to move the clouds, simple peel off and re-iron in their new position.
