Awesomely Fun Glow Jars

Awesomely_Fun_Glow_Jars
Glow sticks are, perhaps, the best 99 cents I can spend for my children. They never, ever get tired of them. Ever. So imagine their surprise when I turned a couple of glow sticks into a glowing jar to bring a little light to their bedtime routine.

Things you’ll need:
Glow bracelets
Jars with tightly fitting lids
Kitchen shears

Things to do:
1. Crack the glow sticks well so that they start to glow.

2. Holding the glow sticks upright over a garbage can, cut the top 1/4 inch off of each tube.
3. Tip the glow sticks into the jar, holding them just off the bottom of the glass.
4. Use the shears cut the top end off of each tube, allowing the gel to drip into the jars.
5. Seal the jars well and shake to distribute the gel around the jar.

While the liquid in glow in the dark bracelets is non-toxic, it’s best to do this for the kids so that they don’t come into contact with the gel.

Fabric Covered Button Kit
Lightweight fabric
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Using the template provided with the kit, cut a circle of fabric for each button you wish to make.

3. Fold the edges of the fabric into the cap and slip the backing piece of the button over to cover.
4. Using the presser, push down firmly on the backing until you hear a snap indicating that the backing has popped into place.
5. Remove the finished button from the base.
