This showy felt flower looks deceptively complex, but it’s really easy to make. You’ll enjoy stitching, snipping and gluing these felt loop fringe flowers into shape.
Difficulty level: Easy
Time to complete: 30 minutes
Age range: 10+
Things you’ll need:
Sheet of felt
Ruler
Embroidery floss
Hot glue gun
Glue sticks
Scissors
Needle with large eye
Ruler
Things to do:
1. Cut a piece of felt to 7 inches wide, along the long side of the sheet, so that it’s longer than it is wide. Fold this in half and take a run stitch along the open edge, as shown.
2. Make 1/2 ” inch slits in the felt, going to within 1/4 ” of the stitching.
3. The piece should look like this.
4. Warm up your hot glue gun. Start rolling the stitched edge as shown, gluing in place.
5. Continue rolling and gluing.
6. The bottom should look like this. “Fluff” the top of the felt so that the loops are separated and the flower looks full.
