DIY ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go’ Sign

This sweet little sign is easy to make and would be the perfect decoration for a first birthday party or a graduation party (for kindergarten, high school, or even college, for that matter).

It would be a fun gift for a teacher who uses a Dr. Seuss theme in their classroom. You could also make a similar sign with any five-word sentiment you like.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 1 hour, plus drying time
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Unfinished wood sign post cutout
Brown paint
Red paint
Orange paint
Yellow paint
Green paint
Blue paint
Black paint
Paint brushes
Pencil

Things to do:
1. Begin by painting the post part of the sign brown or black.

2. Paint each of the signs a different color. I went with the colors of the rainbow in order from top to bottom – red, orange, green, yellow, blue – but you can do something more random if you’d rather. Allow to dry.

3. Use a pencil to write out the words, one on each sign, oh, the places you’ll go. I tried to make my font similar to the Dr. Seuss font, but you can make the letters any way you want. I also added punctuation that corresponds to the book title: a comma after oh, and an exclamation point at the end.

4. Use a small brush to paint the words in black on each sign. Allow to dry.
