DIY Chalkboard Paint Bottles

Chalkboard_Bottles
I make my own salad dressing most weeks and while I have a few favorites, I’m always changing things up. To help keep the confusion down on Which dressing are we eating this time” I’ve started labeling the dressing once it’s made. The thing is, even masking tape can leave a sticky residue and I hate scrubbing marker off glass, so labeling a plain glass bottle over and over can be tricky, unless you have a little chalkboard paint handy. This is not dishwasher safe but will hold up to a gentle scrub if the paint is allowed to cure well before use.

Things you’ll need:
Glass bottle
Painters tape
Glass medium
Chalkboard paint
Foam brush

Things to do:
1. Mask off a rectangle using the painter’s tape.
2. Coat the exposed glass with two coats of medium, allowing each to dry thoroughly before moving to the next.

3. Once the medium is completely dry, paint with three to four thin coats of chalkboard paint, again allowing each layer to dry before adding the next.

4. Allow the paint to cure for several days before using.
