This no-sew placemat adds the perfect homemade touch to your home decor. Make a set for your dining room table and accent them with a copper vase and fresh flowers for the perfect rustic-chic look.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 1 hour
Age range: 13 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Sisal rope
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Things to do:
1. Apply a drop of hot glue to the end of your piece of rope and fold it down over itself. This creates the center of your placemat. Hold the fold in place until the glue has dried completely.

2. Once the center is dry, add a line of hot glue around the outside edge and start wrapping the rope around. Keep applying hot glue and wrapping until the placemat reaches your desired size.

3. When the placemat is finished, cut the end and apply hot glue to the end of the piece and press it firmly against the side of the placemat. Hold it in place until it is dry and add another layer of hot glue to the tip of the rope. This will seal the end in place and keep your placemat from unraveling.
