DIY Easy Peasy Pom Poms

Pom Poms are cute and fun and handy to have around, especially now that the holidays are getting closer (perfect gift toppers!). I used to think Pom Poms were more work to make than they were worth until I hit upon this simple trick. Use a fork!

Things you’ll need:
Yarn (any, or multiple weights will work)
Fork (or forks of various sizes)
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Weave the tail into the tines of fork to help secure it onto the fork.

2. Wrap the yarn over a one inch section of the fork until you have a nice bulk. The amount of yarn you use, combined with the weight of the yarn you use will vary the bulk of the pom pom.

3. Thread a six-inch piece of matching yarn through the bottom of the center gap in the fork. Wrap the yarn around through the top of the center gap in the fork and tie tightly, slipping the bundle off as you go to allow for a tighter knot.

4. Slip the scissors into the loops and cut. Fluff the yarn out and then trim into a smooth ball.
