Chalkboard Paint Decal

Chalkboard_Decal
I have an ugly refrigerator. I used to have a beautiful fridge that I loved but then I moved into a temporary apartment with a very ugly fridge. And because I can neither replace nor alter my fridge in any permanent way, I’ve been trying to cheer it up with this and that to make it less noticeably ugly. Along with art from my kids and some fun little magnets, I’ve added a few vinyl decals to the front to cheer it up including this chalkboard one, perfectly placed for grocery reminders and family notes. While you can absolutely hand cut the vinyl here, it’s far easier if you have a digital cutter, so beg or borrow one if you can for this craft.

Things you’ll need:
Digital cutter
Adhesive vinyl
Chalkboard paint
Foam brush

Things to do:
1. Choosing either a frame or doily pattern, elongate your shape to the maximum size you can fit on a sheet of vinyl. Run the material through your cutter.

2. Remove everything but the image and lay on a covered work surface.
3. Working carefully around the detailed edged, coat the vinyl with chalkboard paint in thin, even coats. You’ll need at least three to achieve good coverage.

4. Allow the paint to dry overnight and then peel off the backing and apply carefully. Let the chalkboard paint cure according to manufacturers directions before using.
