Kids Crafts: Fun Pipe Cleaner Jar


This projects is both an excellent project to do with kids, and results in a fun object for the kids. Try out different containers for different effects (very small pieces in a CD case perhaps?) For the basic jar, go with multicolored pipe cleaners for maximum fun.

Things you’ll need:
Pipe cleaners
Kitchen shears
Strong magnet
Plastic container with a lid

Things to do:
1. Cut the pipe cleaners into enough 3/4 inch long to fill the container 1/4 of the way.

2. Seal the lid well and flip over.

3. Run the magnet along the outside, dragging the bits of pipe cleaner around to make crazy shapes.

Popsicle Stick Magnets

If you have little ones in the house, you know that anything magnetic is interesting to them. Letters, pictures, puzzles, anything. A little magnetic tape turns simple craft sticks into the perfect tool for imagination.

Things you’ll need:
Jumbo popsicle sticks
Acrylic paint
Magnetic tape
Scissors

Things to do:
1. On a covered work surface, paint your craft sticks in a variety of colors.

2. Once the paint is dry, flip the stick over and run magnetic tape down the back. Press well to make sure the adhesive adheres completely.
