DIY “Thankful” Thanksgiving Tree Centerpiece

This quaint DIY makes the perfect centerpiece for your Thanksgiving dinner. Set the ornaments on each guests’ plate and let them write a word or phrase to display on the tree. They’ll love decorating your space with things they’re thankful for.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 30 Minutes
Age range: 12 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Large mason jar
Wired ribbon
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Jute
Log slices
Chalk paint
Chalk
Chalk Ink Marker
Miniature pumpkins
Branch

Things to do:
1. Paint several log slices with chalkboard paint. Use a small paintbrush and apply a generous layer. Give the log slices time to dry and apply a second coat if necessary.

2. Fill a mason jar with miniature pumpkins.

3. Slide a large branch into the miniature pumpkins.

4. Next, you’ll want to prepare your log slices to be hung. Apply a drop of hot glue to the back of the log slice and add a small jute hanger. Repeat this step until all log slices have a hanger attached.

5. Cure your log slice chalkboards by rubbing a piece of chalk across the surface and wiping them clean with a rag.
6. Display your branch and ornaments and let your guests record the things they’re thankful for.
