This mellow, low key bunting has got enough red white and blue spirit to adorn your house for your Independence Day celebration while still being subtle enough to leave up all summer long. Be sure to check out our Barn Star Bunting Hooks tutorial as well, they are the perfect way to hang this fun banner!

Difficulty level: Moderate
Time required: 30 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Hemp Twine
Red Striped Tea Towel
Blue Checked Tea Towel
Darning Needle
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Fold your tea towels in half lengthwise. Starting at one end, cut even triangles out of the towel that stretch the height of the (folded) towel. Repeat with the other towel. You should have an equal amount of each.

2. Thread your darning needle with the hemp twine and begin sewing the triangles onto the twine by drawing the needle in through one corner and our through the opposite corner.

3. Continue to add triangles until you have them all threaded on. DO NOT CUT THE TWINE YET.
4. Unravel the twine until it is long enough for each triangle to lay flat with their corners touching and leave 5 inches at each end.
5. Tie a loop at each end and trim away the excess twine.
6. Hang with a slight drape for the best look.

Webbing and Burlap Runner

This simple table runner has a nice rustic quality thanks to the burlap and also has something bright and colorful in the webbing, in this case a nice flag patterned webbing for the Fourth of July. The key here is to keep the weaving of the webbing even, this can be done either by eye or by using a scrap pf paper to mark how far apart and how far from the edge the slits should be.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time required: 15 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Webbing
Burlap fabric cut to runner size or a premade burlap runner
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Roll out your burlap and cut to the length needed for your table then cut two pieces of webbing the same length.

2. Cut slits along the length of the burlap evenly and just the width of the webbing.

3. Weave the webbing in and out of the slits until you reach the end. Repeat on the other side.
