Wood Burned Tree Twig Decor

Wood burning, which is technically called pyrography, is, I’m going to warn you, pretty addictive. Once you get started, you’ll find all sorts of things to add little decorations to with a wood-burning tool. This project is the perfect example, turning simple chunks of birch branch into beautiful, mid-century inspired winter decor.

Time required: 20 minutes
Difficulty level: Moderate

Things you’ll need:
Birch branch logs
Wood burning tool and tips

Things to do:
1. Plug in your wood-burning tool with the chisel tip attached.
2. Set your branch sections on a counter to decide which side you want to decorate.

3. Begin by burning a straight line down the center of the area you want your tree, this will be the trunk.

4. Add an outline of the shape you want: A square, triangle or upward leaning branches are all good places to start.

5. Add small details like additional branches or dots to finish.
