Spruce up your space with these shabby-chic tin can pumpkins! They add such a charming, homey touch to your holiday decor that you’ll want to keep them up all season long!
Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 15 minutes
Age range: 12 and up
Things you’ll need:
Tin can
Orange paint
Foam brush
Hot glue gun/glue sticks
Artificial leaves
Wired jute
Raffia ribbon
Scissors
Things to do:
1. First, paint your tin can orange. If you’re using acrylic paint, apply a thick coat. It’s difficult to add another layer once the paint has dried.
2. Next, we get to decorate! Use hot glue to secure a leaf to the top of your tin can.
3. Wrap wired ribbon around the handle of your foam brush to create the stem. Slide it off gently, being careful to preserve the curl. Use hot glue to secure it the center of your lid, just over the leaf.
4. To finish your pumpkin, wrap raffia ribbon around the middle of the tin can and knot it in the center. Trim the ends for a polished look.
