Upcycle: Clothespin Photo Frame

This twist on a classic photo frame is sure to add interest to your interior. You’ll love the shabby-chic element it adds, creating a vintage vibe that is oh-so-cute!

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 15 minutes
Age range: 10 and up. *Younger ages may need assistance.

Things you’ll need:
A large photo frame without glass
Scissors
Ruler
Jute
Flathead tacks
Hammer
Mini Clothespins

Things to do:
1. Decide if you want your photo frame to hang horizontally or vertically.
2. Measure 1″ from the top of the frame on each side and hammer a tack in. Don’t hammer the tack in completely, because you need space to attach your jute.

3. Measure 5″ down from the first tacks on either side and hammer two more tacks in. Continue measuring and hammering in your tacks until the entire space of the frame has been filled.
4. Cut a piece of jute that measures the width of your frame and wrap each side around the parallel tacks. Once you have wrapped the end of jute around a tack, hammer the tack down completely to hold the jute firmly in place. Continue until each pair of nails has a piece of jute attached. Trim any excess jute.

5. Use mini clothespins to attach photo or notes to your frame and enjoy!
