Bring back a simple craft that was popular in the 1980s! These beaded shoe charms are fun and simple for kids to make – and they’re fun to share and trade with others when complete! Make them in school colors, your favorite color, or many different combinations.

Things you’ll need:
Seed beads
3/4″ – 7/8″ safety pins

Things to do:
1. Carefully open the safety pin and make sure the beads you have available will fit on the pin. Most beads will fit on the smaller safety pins suggested for this craft. Start mounting beads onto the pin.

2. Continue loading beads onto the pin. About 7-9 beads will fit per safety pin.

3. When adding the charm to the top lace of your shoes, open up the pin and hold the end with the bead securely. Slip the head of the pin under the shoelace and close the pin. That’s all there is to it! How many beaded shoe pins will your child add to her shoes?
