Things you’ll need:
8″ embroidery hoop
Craft wire
Embroidery thread or yarn
Blue ribbon and white ribbon in a few styles (7-10 pieces of various lengths)
Lace (3-4 pieces of various lengths)
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Cut a length of craft wire 10-15 inches long, depending on how big you would like your heart, and bend a heart shape from it.

2. One at a time, fold the length of ribbon or lace in half and place the loop over the embroidery hoop.

3. Bring the ends of the lace under the hoop and through the loop.

4. Pull taut and repeat for all of the pieces of ribbon.

5. Loosely position the wire heart in your hoop by tying a scrap of ribbon, cord or string to the side of the hoop.

6. Wrap the thread around the hoop 4-5 times, stretch it across to the wire heart and wrap twice around the wire.

7. Alternate wrapping the hoop and wrapping the wire as you move up and around the side of the hoop.
8. After you have finished, knot the thread on the backside of the hoop and cut the end string short so it does not show from the front.
