Snowman Gift in a Mason Jar Tutorial

Every year, around this time, I get down to business making candies and cookies for my friends and neighbors. While I used to send over the sweets on plates, in recent years I’ve made the switch to the easy, everpresent mason jar. Perfect for giving all sorts of foodie (and non foodie) gifts, it’s reusable, durable and down right handy. So I love using jars in my gift giving. And here’s a great way to spruce up a plain old jar for your holiday yummies.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: Less than 5 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Mason Jar
3 black buttons
Piece of fleece at least 20 inches long and 3 inches wide
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Things to do:
1. Glue the buttons down one of the flat sides of the jar. You’ll want flat backed buttons rather than shank buttons for this.

2. Fill the jar with goodies and screw on the lid.
3. Depending on the size of your jar, you’ll want to cut the scarf so that it wraps nicely twice around the neck of the jar with enough left over for the tails. Cut the fleece to length and trim the end into a fringe.

4. Tie the scarf around the neck of the jar, ready for gifting.
