Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time to complete: Under one hour to complete three felt kittens
Age range: 10 and up. *Younger ages may need assistance

Things you’ll need:
Disappearing fabric marker or pen
Scissors
Felt squares, color of your choice
Yarn
Thread and needle
Craft paint
Stylist or toothpick

Things to do:
1. Create a pattern for your kittens by drawing a figure 8 that is 1″ tall. This pattern should look like two circles sitting on top of one another. On top of the figure 8, draw two triangles for the kitten’s ears.

2. Cut out pattern and trace onto felt. Trace two shapes in the same color felt.

3. Place one shape on top of the other with the pen marks facing in and whip stitch around the outside edges, leaving the bottom portion open.

4. Use yarn to stuff your kitten. Place the yarn on the end of a pen and fill the body of the animal.

5. Once the kitten has been stuffed, cut a 2″ piece of yarn and knot the end. This will become the tail.

6. Tuck the knotted end inside the cat and finish stitching around the bottom of the kitten until it is complete.

7. Using a stylist or toothpick, add three dots for your eyes and nose. Add whiskers with embroidery floss, using glue to hold them in place.
