Scrapbook Jewel Bobbies

I wear a lot of bobby pins in my hair, and sometimes, I just don’t want the plain old plain old brown pins. These pins are a simple step up from the basic bobby and require just a few basic craft supplies, but the results are a fun, store-quality look that is infinitely customizable.

Things you’ll need:
Bobby pins with mounting plate
Scrapbook paper
Craft glue
Scissors
Diamond Glaze

Things to do:
1. Press the mounting plate of the pin into the paper to mark the size.

2. Using the scissors carefully cut out the shape from the scrapbook paper.
3. Add a drop of glue to the mounting plate and press in the circle of paper. Smooth down and allow the glue to dry before proceeding.
4. Slip the pin onto a book or piece of cardboard to keep it steady and the mounting plate level.
5. Fill the mounting plate with a generous layer of triple thick. Tap lightly to work any bubbles to the surface and pop with a pin or needle.
6. Allow the triple thick to dry, this may take up to two days. Add a second layer of triple thick if necessary to create that jewel like glaze over the paper.
