Rick Rack Trimmed Ribbon

Rick rack is, of course, traditionally something used to trim fabrics, but it’s also cute trimming other materials, such as this ribbon. Turn plain grosgrain ribbon into something with depth and pop with this technique and spice your next ribbon project up!

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 5 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Grosgrain ribbon
Rick Rack
Sewing machine and thread
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Cut two lengths of rick rack slightly longer than the length of ribbon that you need.

2. Layer one piece of rick rack under the edge of the ribbon so that the bumps peek out of the edge.
3. Stitch along the edge of the ribbon, just inside the ridge of the ribbon.

4. Lining up the bumps, lay down a matching piece of rick rack on the other side and stitch along the other edge of the ribbon.
5. Trim away the excess rick rack at the ends and cut all threads before using.
