Popsicle and Ribbon Pen Holder

Father’s day is right around the corner and what dad wouldn’t want a gift made by their kids with love? This pen holder is a great project for kids to make for their dads and it can be personalized with ribbon in whatever color daddy likes best or painted sticks to create patterns or themes. If you don’t have a coffee can handy, an empty and clean tin can or plastic cup with straight sides works as well, anything that is slightly shorter than the sticks.

Difficulty level: Intermediate (with parental help)
Time required: 15 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Popsicle sticks
Ribbon
Coffee Can
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Measure enough ribbon to go around the coffee can with about 1/2 inch overlap. Cut two identical pieces.
2. Lay the ribbon out, on over the other with an even space between them.
3. Glue the Popsicle sticks along the ribbons with a small space between each, leaving room at each end for the overlap.

4. Once the glue is dry roll the popsicle sticks up around the coffee can so that the ends of the ribbon meet. Glue together to hold.
