Whoever said you shouldn’t play with your food obviously didn’t know about these adorable felt peas in a pod. They’re so simple and fun to make, you’ll harvest a batch in no time flat.

Things you need:
Green Felt Square
Green Wool Roving (or dye your own!)
Felting needle
Scissors
Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Pea Pod Template
Sewing needle
Green embroidery thread

Things to do:
1. To make the pods, begin by printing out the Pea Pod Template. Cut out the shapes from the template, then trace onto your green felt square and cut the shapes from the felt square.
2. Next sew your two pieces together along the curved sides. After sewing, flip them inside out so the seams are on the inside of the pod. Trim the excess with scissors, then use a blanket stitch to seal the ends of the pod about 1″ from each end.
3. To make the peas, place a quarter-sized ball of wool roving (learn to dye your own wool roving here) on a foam board, and begin working with your felting needle until the ball is the dime-sized. You’ll need three peas for every pod.
4. Add a dollop of hot glue to the bottom of each pea, and press into the pod one at a time.

Display your felt peas in a pod in a wood bowl or basket as a fun and unique kitchen accent, use them to adorn sun hats and gardening visors, or add a loop and hang them on your Christmas tree. Be sure to share your bounty with family and friends, as this adorable craft is sure to appease” everyone on your gift list.
