Make Your Own Rick Rack Stretchy Headband

These little stretch headbands are so sweet and so easy that it would almost be a shame not to make them in a rainbow of colors. Adjust the stretchiness by using one or two rubber bands for greater or lesser give or size them down for smaller heads by suing smaller bands rather than full sized ones. Either way, they couldn’t be any cuter!

Time required: 10 minutes
Difficulty level: Easy

Things you’ll need:
Soft tape measure
Rick Rack
Rubber Bands
Sewing machine and thread
Scissors
Fray check

Things to do:
1. Measure the head in question from an inch below one ear to and inch below the other. Cut a length of rick rack 1 inch longer than that measurement.

2. Loop one rubber band through the other and pull to secure.

3. Fold one end of the rick rack over one loop of rubber band and stitch across several times to secure. Here we have used a contrasting thread to better show the stitching.

4. Making sure the rick rack is not twisted, fold the other end around the other loop of rubber band and stitch across to secure.
5. Trim away all threads and trim the edges of the rick rack close to the stitching. Dab a little glue or fray check on the cut edges. Allow the glue to dry before wearing.
