Make Your Own Confetti Poppers

Admittedly, most of us won’t want to pop this confetti popper all over the house very often. But if you’re at a party with a cleanup crew available, or enjoying some time outside, you and your kids will have fun ringing in the new year or any other special occasion with this wildly fun project! You’ll need to stock up on confetti because the kids will want to keep on popping.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 1 hour
Age range: 8+ (parents may need to help stretch the balloon)

Things you’ll need:
Confetti
Scissors
Clear tape
Cardboard tube
Fancy paper or card stock
Small balloon (smaller balloons fit best on paper towel tubes, but if you have a larger cardboard tube, then you can use a larger balloon. The balloon needs to stretch around the tube in order to work)

Things to do:
1. Tie your balloon at the end without blowing up the balloon.

2. Cut off the top, round part of the balloon.

3. Stretch it over the tube. It needs to fit tight.

4. Cut your fancy paper and tape it to the tube, over the balloon, to cover it and make it look festive.

5. Pour in the confetti about halfway. To use, pull down quickly on the balloon end and release quickly. Be prepared to laugh and have fun!
