Shapes template

Things to do:
1. Cut out shapes from craft foam: circle, triangle, square, rectangle. You’ll need two of each.

2. Write the number of points on each shape.
Each shape will be worth a certain number of points:
Circle = 1
Rectangle = 2
Triangle = 3
Square = 4

3. Glue two magnets on the backside of the foam. Place glue around the inside edges of the shapes.

4. Squeeze both sides of your shapes together.

5. To make the fishing rod, paint the dowel in any color you like and set aside to dry.
6. Cut a 3-inch circle of felt and place three magnets inside. Then make a small bundle and secure with glue.
7. Cut a 20-inch piece of yarn. Tie one end of the yarn around the dowel and the other end around your magnet bundle. Secure with a knot.

Now it’s time to go fishing for shapes! Place the shapes on the floor and try to see who can fish for shapes the quickest. The player with the most points wins!

– Have kids trace and color the shapes on the template.
