Difficulty level: Beginner
Time required: 30 minutes
Age range: 8 and up, with adult supervision for hot glue gun
Things you’ll need:
Cupcake liners
Yarn
65 mm pompom maker
Pink pompom
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Things to do:
- Connect the pompom maker, if it’s not already connected. Begin wrapping the yarn around one half of the open circle.
- Wrap until the circle is full and even. Close the circle into the pompom maker.
- Wrap the opposite side of the pompom maker, wrapping so that the other side is even with the first side. Close the circle, then trim the yarn.
- Cut both sides of the pompom loops.
- Cut a 6-8″ strand of yarn, then double knot the strand around the center of the pompom.
- Pull the pompom maker apart to remove the pompom.
- Trim the pompom so that it is even and has no stray pieces.
- Add a few dots of hot glue to the bottom of the cupcake liner.
- Place the pompom into the cupcake liner. If the pompom is overflowing or looks uneven, you can trim the pompom to fit.
- As a final touch, hot glue a small pompom on the top center of the pompom.
