How to Make an Easy Ribbon Flower Brooch Pin


Add this ribbon flower pin to bags, luggage, coats, and any project that needs a little pizzazz. It’s easy to create and adds a wow-factor to your garments and bags.

Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time required: 30 minutes
Age range: 12+

Things you’ll need:
5/8″ grosgrain ribbon
Pin back jewelry finding
Felt
Scissors
Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks

Things to do:
1. Warm up your hot glue gun. Cut 8 strips of ribbon to 6″ long each.

2. Tie knot in the center of each one.

3. Tighten the knot so it stays.

4. This is what the piece looks like when you’re finished.

5. Complete steps 2-4 for all pieces. Use hot glue at the base of each ribbon loop so the ends stay together.

6. Glue two ribbon petals together across from each other.

7. Repeat with two more petals.

8. Add the remaining petals and glue together as shown.

9. Cut another piece of ribbon about 8″ long and knot it several times in the middle.

10. Fold one tail toward the back. Trim, then glue in place. Repeat with the other side.

11. Hot glue the knot circle” to the center of your flower.

12. Cut out a piece of felt into a circle that will cover the back of your flower, but that won’t show through the petals.

13. Hot glue this to the back.

14. Use hot glue to add the pin back on top of the felt circle. Now pin your flower onto a bag or garment, and show off your creation!
