How to Make a Popsicle Stick Sled Ornament

Make a primitive sled from simple popsicle sticks, paint, and glue. The perfect touch for the tree as you reminisce about your days pulling your own sled up the hill and sliding back down!

Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time required: 30 minutes
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Wood craft sticks
Brown acrylic paint
Paint brush
Twine
Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
Utility knife

Things to do:
1. Warm up your hot glue gun. Find the center of one stick and draw a line.

2. Use a utility knife to score the stick along the line, so it will be easier to snap cleanly in half.

3. Glue the short sticks to two upright sticks as shown, and glue another stick on top in the center.

4. Glue four more sticks in the shown pattern to make the center of the sled.

5. Glue one final horizontal stick to the top, as shown.

6. Paint your sled with brown (or red) paint. Add a bit of twin and hang on your tree!
